Mark your calendars - The Local Government Commission is hosting its Fifth Annual Statewide Energy Efficiency Best Practices Forum on Thursday, June 19, 2014 in San Diego, CA.

By Joseph Oldham

This forum is offered free of charge to California local governments and will feature updates from key state agencies and highlight innovative local energy and climate change programs. Past topics have included energy savings programs, financing, climate action tools, and best practices for reducing energy use and greenhouse gases in your community. Join us the evening before to toast energy leaders from around the state at our Energy Champions Networking Reception.

A Statewide Local Government Partner Meeting for all utility partners will also be held on June 18. This meeting will provide an opportunity to come together with local government partner peers from across the state and staff from California’s Investor Owned Utilities to network and learn with one another.

More information will be posted soon at: www.lgc.org/SEEC/forum.html LGC is organizing the forum through the Statewide Energy Efficiency Collaborative, a partnership between LGC, ICLEI: Local Governments For Sustainability, the Institute for Local Government and California’s four investor owned utilities.

This program is funded by California utility ratepayers and administered by Pacific Gas and Electric Company, San Diego Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison and Southern California Gas Company under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
