Landmark Energy Retrofit Bill, AB 758

California continues to lead the way in defining the new ‘green economy’ with a bill that will result in comprehensive retrofits to existing residential and nonresidential buildings across the state. Assembly Bill 758 (AB 758) requires the California Energy Commission (CEC) to develop a statewide program to achieve greater energy savings in existing building stock. read more...

California Solar Initiative Program Handbook

There is a new CSI Program Handbook posted on the CPUC and GoSolar websites. The new CSI Program Handbook incorporates recently approved changes to the CSI Program. There are a number of updates to sections in the CSI Handbook including: a CSI Project Review Section, Extensions for University of California Schools and California State Universities, and Warranty Requirements. read more...

Oil Companies Spending a Barrel Full to Suspend AB 32

On June 22nd, a ballot measure that would suspend AB 32, California's historic climate change law, qualified for the November 2010 ballot. This ballot measure, ironically called, The California Jobs Initiative, would require that AB 32 and its greenhouse gas reduction program be suspended until the unemployment rate in California drops below 5.5 percent for at least four consecutive quarters. This would essentially overturn this landmark law because since 1976, California's unemployment rate has rarely dipped that low. read more...
